Submit your completed timecard—even if you don't work overtime hours— on Friday (deadlines listed below). This ensures your manager is notified for approval. Otherwise, timecards received after the due date may cause payment to be processed on the following pay date!
Important Considerations
- All employees who are salaried non-exempt or hourly in the United States and Canada must complete a timecard in Workday each pay period.
- If you work overtime in a pay period, overtime hours are paid current. This means that time turned in for hours worked in a pay period will be paid on that pay period's paycheck. Overtime pay is combined with regular payroll, and is coded separately on pay stubs. If you have specific questions on the payment schedule, contact payroll@surveymonkey.com.
- If there's a company holiday, 8 hours of Holiday Pay will pre-populate on your timecard. Don't enter Hours Worked on that day, unless you actually worked the holiday.

If you're taking time off:

As soon as you have decided to take time off, enter your PTO dates in Workday via the Absence (suitcase) icon.

The days you enter will automatically pull into your timecard.

If you're taking a leave of absence, you don't need to enter a timecard while you're on leave—our Leave Vendors will let Payroll know to ensure you receive appropriate pay during the leave (if applicable).
How to Complete and Submit Your Timecard in Workday
1. Navigate to the Time app in Workday.

- Log into Workday.
- Under Applications on the right-hand side, click on the Time icon.
- Click on This Week:
2. Decide on a method you'd like to fill out your timecard.
- If it's your first time in workday, we recommend using the Quick Add option to set up your own personal weekly schedule.
- If you worked the same hours this week as you worked a previous week, we recommend the Auto-fill from Prior Week option.
3. Submit your timecard.
- Once hours are all set, click Submit.
- Review your summary of the hours you worked, overtime eligible hours, time off hours, or holiday hours for the period. You have the option to add a comment, if you'd like.
- Click Submit to send the timecard to your manager for approval.
You'll see a confirmation screen and your manager will receive an email and Workday Inbox task to review and approve your submitted hours.
You'll receive an email confirmation when your manager has approved your timecard.
